What people bring us
These are the documents we witness and commission most often over secure video under O. Reg. 431/20. These are common examples, not a complete eligibility list; the exact form and the receiving organization's requirements still matter.
Some documents, including certified true copies of paper or identity documents, wills, powers of attorney, and documents requiring wet ink, are handled in person. Check your exact document to see whether it is online-eligible, requires review, or must be completed in person.

Remote commissioning in Ontario
Eligible oaths and declarations may be commissioned remotely under O. Reg. 431/20 when the required process is followed. That does not require a court, government office, bank, school, or other recipient to accept the document.
Official Ontario sources
The receiving organization decides whether it will accept a remotely commissioned document.
Some forms require an oath or declaration; others specifically require a notarized original.
Ask whether the recipient needs wet ink, an original paper copy, or an apostille or legalization.

Before you book
If you are getting a document ready, these cover the essentials: what it costs, what to bring, and when you actually need a notary.
Our pricing is flat: $24.95 for the first stamp or seal and $24.95 for each additional stamp, plus HST. The same rate applies to every service, with no rush fees and no document surcharges.
Yes. The first signer is included in the flat rate, and each additional person who must also sign is charged extra — $24.95 per additional signer, plus HST. Your total updates automatically as you add signers when you book.
Please bring valid, government-issued photo identification, such as a passport, an Ontario driver’s licence, or an Ontario photo card. Bring the original documents you need notarized, along with any supporting paperwork the receiving organization has asked for.
A commissioner of oaths can administer oaths and take affidavits and declarations for use within Ontario. A notary public can do all of that and also certify true copies, witness signatures, and notarize documents intended for use outside Ontario or abroad. We act in both capacities.
Eligible affidavits, statutory declarations, and selected sworn Ontario, IRCC, and court forms can be commissioned online under O. Reg. 431/20. At Minute Notary, signature notarization (including travel consent letters), certified true copies of paper or identity documents, wills, powers of attorney, trusts, negotiable instruments, documents of title, and documents that require a wet-ink original for apostille or legalization are handled in person. Contracts, custom forms, and documents for use abroad may require review, and the receiving organization must accept remote commissioning. Select your exact document when booking to see whether it is online-eligible, requires review, or must be completed in person.
A consent letter is not legally required in Canada, but the Government of Canada recommends carrying one when a child travels without every person who has decision-making responsibility. Any adult may witness it, while the Government strongly recommends a notary public. Minute Notary offers live online or in-person witnessing; carry the original signed letter, check airline and destination rules, and remember that acceptance is not guaranteed.
Yes. We work by appointment so we can prepare for your document and arrange the online signing or a mobile visit. Same-day slots are usually available any day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday. Book online or call (613) 434-5555.
Most notarizations are completed in minutes once we begin. Certified copies and signature witnessing usually take 10 to 15 minutes; affidavits and statutory declarations take 15 to 20 minutes.
