Notary — Quebec & British Columbia

Quebec and British Columbia

We are opening service in Quebec and British Columbia and are looking for notaries to anchor that work. You will take appointments by secure video where your province allows it, and meet clients in person in your own region, with the scheduling, intake, identity checks, and document handling already built for you.

What you would do

  • Take notarial appointments in your province, both by secure video and in person locally.
  • Verify identity and confirm the signer understands and is signing freely.
  • Complete affidavits, statutory declarations, certified copies, and signature witnessing within the scope your licence allows.
  • Keep your own register and records to your regulator’s standard.
  • Flag anything outside your scope early, so a client is redirected rather than turned away at the appointment.

What we need

  • Licensed in Quebec or in British Columbia — we are hiring in both provinces, so one is enough.
  • Quebec: a notaire in good standing on the Tableau de l’Ordre of the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
  • British Columbia: a member in good standing of the Society of Notaries Public of British Columbia (or its successor regulator under the Legal Professions Act), or a BC lawyer entitled to act as a notary public.
  • Professional liability insurance in force, and a clean regulatory standing you are willing to have verified.
  • A private space, a reliable connection, and a device you can run a video appointment from.

Nice to have

  • Comfortable working in both English and French.
  • Experience with immigration, travel consent, or real estate paperwork.
  • Comfort with remote or electronic signing workflows.

Notary — Kanata & Toronto

Kanata and Toronto, Ontario

We are adding in-person coverage in Kanata and in Toronto alongside the online appointments we already run across Ontario. We are looking for Ontario notaries to take those appointments — online over secure video, and in person for the documents we only sign face to face.

What you would do

  • Take Ontario appointments online over secure video, and in person in Kanata or Toronto.
  • Commission affidavits and statutory declarations, and administer oaths and affirmations.
  • Certify true copies and witness signatures where the document allows it.
  • Handle the work we only do in person — estate documents such as powers of attorney and wills, and any signing that has to happen face to face.
  • Keep records to the standard the Notaries Act and our own retention policy require.

What we need

  • A current Ontario Notary Public appointment under the Notaries Act, or eligibility to apply for one through the Ministry of the Attorney General.
  • Based in or near Kanata, or in the Greater Toronto Area — we are hiring in both.
  • Professional liability insurance in force, and a clean regulatory standing you are willing to have verified.
  • A private space, a reliable connection, and a device you can run a video appointment from.

Nice to have

  • A Law Society of Ontario licence as a lawyer or paralegal.
  • Experience with estate documents, vehicle transfers, or IRCC paperwork.
  • A second language — our clients are not all first-language English speakers.

    A short introductory call

    We talk about volume, coverage, scheduling, and how the work is actually paid. Your questions matter as much as ours.

    Credentials, then onboarding

    We verify your standing with your regulator and your insurance, walk you through the platform, and start you on a light schedule before opening it up.

Questions candidates ask

01Do I have to be licensed in the province I would cover?

Yes. Notarial authority is provincial, and there is no way around that: a Quebec notaire, a BC notary, and an Ontario notary public are three separate credentials granted by three separate authorities. Apply for the province you already hold, or can hold.

02Is the work remote or in person?

Both. Online appointments run over secure video where your province’s rules allow it, and some documents have to be signed face to face — so each position covers online appointments plus in-person appointments within its own region.

03How is the work paid?

We discuss that on the introductory call, once we both know the volume and coverage involved. We would rather agree on real numbers with you than publish a figure here that fits nobody.

04Do I need to bring my own clients?

No. Client demand, marketing, and booking are ours. What we need from you is availability, care with the notarial act, and a licence in good standing.

05What equipment do I need?

A private space, a stable connection, and a device that can run a video appointment. Everything else — scheduling, identity capture, documents, records — runs in the browser on our platform.

06My province is not listed. Should I still write?

Yes, choose “General interest” on the form. We are opening provinces one at a time, and knowing a licensed notary is already waiting is often what decides which one comes next.
