The office
Most people meet a notary once or twice in a lifetime, usually because someone else told them they had to. The visit should not be a mystery. We notarise documents under the rules set out in Ontario’s Notaries Act: identity is checked, signatures are witnessed in person, and copies are certified against the original in front of you.
We do not draft your will, give legal advice, or take a side in your dispute. What we do is verify, witness, and seal, then enter the act in our register so it can be confirmed later. If a document needs more than that, we will say so before you pay for anything.
If you cannot come to the office for medical or mobility reasons, we make hospital and home visits across Ottawa. Same-day slots most weekdays.
How we work
The same standards apply whether the document takes five minutes or an hour, whether you need one stamp or ten.
Every document is handled to the standards required by Ontario’s Notaries Act. If something is not correct, we will say so before you sign.
We explain what each notarial step does and what it does not do. We do not give legal advice; we will tell you when a lawyer is the right call.
By appointment with same-day slots most weekdays. Mobile visits across Ottawa for clients who cannot travel. Evening and weekend slots on request.
Identity documents are inspected, not retained. Files are kept in a logged register as required of Ontario notaries, and nothing else leaves the office.
