Minute Notary provides remote commissioning of oaths, affirmations, and statutory declarations, and virtual witnessing of signatures, over secure two-way video for clients in Ontario, under Ontario Regulation 431/20 (made under the Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act). References to “online notary,” “notarize online,” or “online notarization” are used only as informal, descriptive terms so clients can find this service. Ontario law does not regulate online notarization as such, and Minute Notary does not notarize documents over video. Those terms refer only to the legally valid remote commissioning and virtual witnessing services described here.
Some notarial acts are handled in person only, including certified true copies of physical original documents, wills, powers of attorney, and documents that require a wet-ink signature or an apostille for use abroad. If your document only exists on paper, or the receiving organization requires an original signature, we will let you know and arrange an in-person appointment.
Minute Notary is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Before booking, please confirm that the court, government body, or organization receiving your document accepts remotely commissioned documents. Questions? Call 613-434-5555 or email info@minutenotary.ca.
